Reiki Healing

I am trained and attuned up to the Reiki master level in the Usui Reiki method. I am not yet a Reiki Master (as this depends on deeper practice with clients), but will update this as I reach Reiki Master level.

Reiki is a practice that originated in Japan. It uses the universal life force energy, reiki, channeled through the hands of the practitioner, to direct healing energy to the client so that the client’s energetic field can direct the energy to where healing or balance is needed. The energy will always go where it is needed, pulled by the innate wisdom of the body and its desire to heal itself/exist in homoeostasis.

Reiki is a tool for spiritual growth as well as for physical and mental healing. Reiki is also useful for increasing awareness, insight, wisdom, and personal growth.

My teacher, Lisa Powers, says the following,
“Our body has a natural electromagnetic frequency that it prefers to resonate with. When all levels of the body are in harmony with that frequency, communication is strong. The body loses its effectiveness to heal and maintain homeostasis when the lines of communication within the body are disrupted. These disruptions occur when we store energy that is dissonant with our natural resonance…The practitioner holds the space for the bodymind to see the possibilities it can choose from with regard to healing so the body is no longer tied to a dysfunctional way of being.”

What makes reiki so effective is that we do not have to have conscious awareness of what our bodies are releasing in order for reiki to the do the work it needs to do. Please note that reiki is not used to prescribe or diagnose. It can be a wonderful compliment to other and concurrent healing modalities.

Reiki sessions can be performed in-person and at-a-distance.

Reiki principles:

  • Just for today, I will not be angry.

  • Just for today, I will not worry.

  • Just for today, I will be grateful.

  • Just for today, I will do my work honestly.

  • Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing.
